DESCRIPTION:Hosted by: Waikato-Maniapoto Māori Hockey\, 23-26 Oct 2026 \nLocation: Gallagher Hockey Centre\, 0 Queens Avenue\, Frankton\, Hamilton 3204 \nThe National Tournament is held every year over Labour Weekend and is an official listing on the NZ Hockey Federation calendar of events. \nContact your Rohe Delegate or Kaunihera for information on team trials and registrations. Participation is open to individuals of Māori descent affiliated with their representative rohe\, ensuring a strong connection to ancestral lands and communities that enhances cultural understanding and authenticity. \n\nTOURNAMENT SCHEDULE \nFriday: Pōwhiri at 1pm followed by the first round of games\nSaturday: Games continued\nSunday: Semi-finals & Pō Whakangahau\nMonday: Finals\, awards & Poroporoaki at 3pm \n\nPŌ WHAKANGAHAU \nWe want to emphasise the importance of coming together to share tikanga through kapa haka\, waiata\, and kai. This is a time to celebrate our connections\, strengthen relationships\, and honour the values that unite us.
