A Massive Year of Māori Hockey Talent
We are proud to announce the New Zealand Māori Hockey Representative Squads for 2025/26, selected following an outstanding display of skill, passion and pride at this year’s National Māori Hockey Tournament.
With firm age criteria in place — and the requirement that players must be present at tournament — the selectors faced an incredibly difficult task. The talent this year was extremely high, with athletes from across the motu giving everything on the turf.
A Nationwide Rōpū of Rising and Senior Talent
Our junior and senior squads represent rohe from all over Aotearoa.
Each athlete demonstrated:
- Strong whakapapa connections
- High-level performance under pressure
- Mana and leadership
- Resilience and commitment to Māori Hockey values
- A genuine desire to uplift their teams and iwi
This group reflects the strength, depth, and future of Māori hockey.

- Potential Trans-Tasman fixtures with Queensland Māori
- National training camps and regional development workshops
