NZ Heritage Hockey Tournament Wrap-up: Culture, Competition, and Champions
The recent NZ Heritage Hockey Tournament saw exciting competition from wahine and tane teams, interwoven with powerful cultural expressions.
The NZ Māori team particularly shone, playing with a deep connection to whakapapa and wairua. They embodied the strength, unity, and beauty of Te Ao Māori. Their unforgettable haka and waiata at the Cultural Evening were a highlight, a true expression of He taonga tuku iho. We thank them for sharing their culture so powerfully.
The men’s final was a hard-fought championship clash between NZ Māori and NZ Indians, filled with intensity and cultural pride. The NZ Indians ultimately secured the 2-0 win, claiming the 2025 title. Congratulations to both teams on a powerful final.
